Trip to Europe

travel , europe , burnout , work-life-balance

I was working 60-80 hours a week working security, felt like i couldnt slow down, didnt know how to stop optimizing every minute of every day. I was scheduling work, sleep, transportation, and even bathroom breaks on google calendar. going to europe forced me to slow down and stop working for a period. on the trip my family who i think might also suffer from over optimizing pressured me to fill each day with activities not understanding that not doing activities was kinda the point. when i got back i was able to maintain a more healthy balance.
